About
TxtUp StandUp was a collaboration between T-Mobile, TimeBank and The Diana Award and the young people who’ve been involved right from the start.
TxtUp StandUp is now closed. But you can still read young people's tips on how to deal with mobile phone, text or cyber bullying and watch the great animations of the winning tips. You can also get advice on what to do if you or any of your friends are being bullied online or on your mobile.
The idea for TxtUp Stand Up came from a group of young people (aged 16-21) that were invited by T-Mobile and TimeBank to come up with ways that mobiles could be used to raise awareness of bullying or help people that are being bullied. T-Mobile’s employees volunteered their time and know-how in communications and mobile networking. TxtUp Stand Up is about the positive actions that you can take and is a way of sharing tips with others that may be in the same situation.
Young participants gave their input all the way through and came up with the TxtUp StandUp name. Participants from TimeBank's youth projects provided the initial content for the site and tips. Young people voted other young people's tips and the favourites were made into animations.
The Diana Award coordinates the Young Anti-Bullying Alliance. They’ve provided support, technical advice and ideas. Thanks to Beat Bullying for providing training to the moderators and editors of the site. T-Mobile has also provided funding and support.
